Engineering Department - Engineer / Graphics Engineer / AI Engineer
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate candidates for Engineering positions focusing in Graphics, AI, and Gameplay for a new title at our Seattle studio. We are an Unreal house, looking for engineers experienced in the Unreal 3 engine. Focused experience in Graphics, AI,Gameplay, and Animation is a plus. Engineers will work closely with Game Designers, Artists, Audio Designers, Animators, and Level Designers. The ideal candidate will have shipped two or more game titles (Unreal shipped titles are a plus), be comfortable working within a large team, along with being a mature, self-starter.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement game systems based on game design and technical specs.
  • Cross-platform implementation of game systems.
  • Code optimization for PC, XBoX360, and PS3.
Position Requirements:
  • Experience with the Unreal Engine.
  • Experience shipping quality game titles for PC or Consoles.
  • Strong C/C++ and scripting language skills.
  • CS, Math, Physics degree, or equivalent experience.

Quality Assurance Department - Tester
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate candidates for Quality Assurance Testing within our Seattle studio. We are looking for experienced Testers with a background FPS/3rd Person games. The ideal candidate will have 3 years experience in a QA-related position, with at least 1 year experience in titles utilizing UE3 Engine, with a background in bug tracking systems and be comfortable working within a large team while being a mature self-starter.

Seeking:
  • Three+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance-related role, with at least one year of White-Box testing, Scripting, or Debugging.
  • Two+ years experience bug tracking (BugZilla preference).
  • One+ years experience scripting and executing functional test cases.
  • MCP, A+, Net+, or other certifications of equivalent experience.
Position Requirements:
  • At least one year experience on a development cycle within the Game Industry.
  • Intermediate PC skills.
  • Able to work on Mature or R-Rated games.
  • College degree or equivalent coursework relating to software development.
Animation Department - Lead Animator / Animator
Lead Animator:
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate candidates to lead the Animation Team for a new title at our Seattle studio. We are looking for a Lead Animator with experience using MotionBuilder and Maya on Unreal Engine-based games. Focused experience in an animation pipeline which includes motion capture is a plus. The Lead Animator will work closely with the Animation Team, along with Artists and Programmers. The ideal candidate will have shipped at least one game title as a Lead, demonstrate an understanding of creating personality with basic animation principles, and be comfortable working as a part of a large team.

Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Previous management experience, with at least one shipped game under a Lead position.
  • Proven communications skills within a team and inter-department.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Mastered skill delegation.
  • Encourages knowledge sharing within the team, and keeps up to date with up and coming technologies.
  • Proven organizational skills, with ability to manage a central Animation Team that is spread over multiple projects.

Animator:
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate candidates for additions to the Animation Team for a new title at our Seattle studio. We are seeking Animators with experience using Motion Builder and Maya on Unreal Engine-based games. Focused experience in Animation Pipeline and demonstrates a strong understanding of creating personality with basic animation principles.

Art Department - FX Artist / Enviro Artist / Character Artist-Rigger
Environment Artist:
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate candidates for their Art Department on a new title at our Seattle studio. We are looking for environment artists with a knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Unreal Engine 3. Artists will work closely with Game Designers, Animators, and Level Designers. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in the Game Industry and be comfortable working within a large team, along with being a mature, self-starter.

Position Requirements:
  • Knowledge of 3D Studio Max or other major modeling packages (Maya/Soft Image) with a willingness to learn Max
  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of Diffuse, Specular, and Normal Mapping.
  • Familiarity with projection techniques for creating normal maps from high poly meshes.
  • Ability to generate quality art that competes with Industry Top Selling Games.
  • Two+ years experience in the Game Industry or an exceptional portfolio.
Seeking:
  • Familiarity with Z-Brush or Mudbox.
  • Ability to take and give constructive criticism.
  • Unreal 3 experience.
  • Ability to concept in 2D form.

FX Artist:
Zombie Studios is seeking experienced and passionate FX Artist to work on a new title at our Seattle studio. We are looking for an FX Artist with knowledge of Photoshop, 3D Studio Max or Maya, and Unreal Engine. FX Artists will work closely with other Artists, Game Designers, and Level Designers. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in the Game Industry with a passion to learn new systems as they come online, be comfortable working within a large team, along with being a mature, self-starter.

Position Skills:
  • Create and edit complex shaders.
  • Knowledgeable of Unreal Engine, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max or Maya for technical support for other artists.
  • Use the Unreal Material Editor and Cascade to create particle systems and other non-particle effects such as volumetric fog and post processing effects.

Level Designers
Our level designers work closely with 3D Artists and programmers to create exciting and visually compelling single player and multiplayer levels for first person action games. Designers focus on integrating game systems with 3d art to achieve immersion and gripping gameplay
Qualifications
  • Thorough command of one or more FPS level editors (UnrealEd, Radiant, Dedit)
  • Recent experience developing engaging game levels for current or next-gen consoles
  • Strong game design skills; an ability to articulate the strengths and weaknesses of modern games; knowledge of the necessary skills and techniques for making exciting FPS gameplay
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Professional attitude
  • Mature work ethic; ability to take direction, work independently AND be a team player
  • Traditional art skills a plus
